Shopping Nightmares
I hate shopping for jeans.
I detest it with every fibre of my being.
I own several pairs of jeans, some that are too small since I gained weight – and which I intend to be wearing again in a couple of months – one pair that are big and baggy and falling down and one pair which fit perfectly and, consequently, got worn to death. Literally.
I noticed last week that the pair that fit perfectly were starting to wear a bit thin around the top of my legs. Not really surprising, given that I have owned them for almost three years and wear them a LOT. So, I had to give in and buy a new pair.
I went to my local department store, bought two pairs – one black bootleg and one blue slouch fit – in the same size as they were on sale. I got home, took off the old pair to try the new ones on and realised that not only were they wearing thin, but had actually developed two holes during the course of my shopping trip.
Mortified by the fact I’d been walking around the city centre with holes in my jeans, I tried the blue jeans on. Marvellous – perfect fit and, therefore, an absolute bargain. The black jeans wouldn’t go past my thighs. It just gets me wound up. They’re the same size, so why don’t they fit? I understand that they’re a different fit, but how can there be that much difference in the size of them?
Now, I have to begin the whole process again. Wish me luck on my trip back to the store.

Sounds like me, every three years and spend a whole day in stores trying things on because I don’t want to go back. LOL
I’m the opposite - I refuse to even set foot in the changing rooms because they stress me out! Consequently, half of what I buy ends up needing to be returned.
Who are all these women we keep hearing about who love shopping?!?
I’m saving up to be able to buy a huge booty of jeans/pants for the very reason that I hate shopping for them. I bought two pairs of jeans at the same time last time and it was the best thing I’ve ever done.
I love shopping but certainly not for jeans/pants. It’s tough looking beautiful, huh?
I wish I’d bought two pairs of the blue jeans I got, as I absolutely love them and now they don’t have any left in my size. When I returned the others, I did manage to get a pair of faded black jeans which look fantastic, though.
It’s awful - they only sell properly black jeans in slim bootcut. WTF?!? I just can’t get them on. My new wide-leg jeans fit like a dream, which is a relief. Fingers crossed I’ll get a lot of wear out of these two pairs before I have to go through it again!
The worst bit of all? I have a wonderful pair from when I was slimmer that I only wore a few times before I put so much weight on that they had to get relegated to the back of the closet. Hopefully I’ll get back into them soon…
